I have used both standard hypnosis, and subliminal audio and experienced great results, but here are my thoughts on the positives and negatives of each method
Hypnosis: A very traditioal form of personal development, which is well documented as well as well accepted and proven. It is normally fast acting and can make a big change within the mind – perhaps perhaps making changes straight away. I do enjoy hypnosis, and although some people experience a lasting change quite quickly I do find that it takes me more than a few sessions, and it isn’t always practical to sit in a trance for 30 minutes a day if you lead a busy lifestyle, but some people, especially some of my friends, do respond very well to hypnosis, so if you have the money, and the time to use it then it can be a fantastic tool
Subliminal Audio: This is becoming a lot more popular and accepted in general, and there is a lot of talk on the Internet currently – it seems everyone is giving them a go, and some are are getting fantastic results. It works similarly to hypnotherapy does by sending positive statements straight to your unconscious mind to change your beliefs and patterns of behavior. The main advantage is that you can listen to them at anytime, and anywhere. Unlike traditional hypnosis you never lose consciousness or enter a trance state – you can listen therefore while you study, work, clean your house, sleep, and even while exercising. On the other side the changes can be more gradual, as the subliminal messages build within your mind, but you are still talking about seeing some change within a week or two which isn’t so bad.
At the end of the day there isn’t really a single "best method", it is more about personal preference. What works well for one person could not be so beneficial for someone else. We all have different ways of taking in information and processing it.
